The recent announcement by KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who is considered to be “the product innovation foreteller” revealed that apple is planning to release a new Apple’s 4-inch iPhone version in the first half of 2016. The reason for returning back to an iPhone 5s sized line, is explained by still growing market demand for smaller screens, that are presumably more affordable and easy to carry.
Still, not much is known about the upgraded 4-inch iPhone, though Kuo says to expect a metallic casing around the usual assortment of hardware. According to recent rumors, Apple will likely include an A9 chip and iOS9, which is considered to be sufficient breakthrough in technology for the last decade. It’s going to allow the system run more smoothly, preventing errors, bugs and slow downs. Two times faster, it’s planned to boast the new transistor architecture for better energy efficiency. It might also come with 2GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage. That means it’s a lot of data to work with, and especially if you’re talking about doing any kind of post-processing.
The Camera
Many consumers are curious about the camera and video advancements with the new release. The last iPhone camera release received a huge upgrade with a 12-megapixel iSight camera and a two-tone flash. The new version is believed to stick to these parameters. Image quality is said to be greatly enhanced due to new technology like “deep trench isolation,” which separates the photo diodes to maintain accurate colors and limit noise. Also, as it is known, Apple is considered to be a big fan of selfie cam, we are still expecting a 5-megapixel front-facing camera and a “true tone” flash. The technique lights up the phone’s main display to produce an accurate “flash” that matches the colors the camera sees, though the flash doesn’t wash out your face in the selfie. A great belief exists that the new version will be able to shoot 4K video. That allows one to make perfect pans and zooms, shooting A and B roll shots at the same time, stabilize and crop footage in post, which puts the iPhone’s camcorder on par with Android flagships and enables you to capture life moment with ultra HD quality.
New Features
There are several ideas that the new iPhone will be waterproof and dustproof, it might have better scratch protection, higher visibility to the screen and might undergo some color and design changes. However the design has always played the first fiddle with Apple’s iPhone series and the brand definitely prefers an iconic position for any industry on the global sphere. Therefore, it can reasonably be expected that Apple has invested plenty of thoughts into the color options for its customers.
Kou states to differentiate the offering further, it won’t feature the new 3D Touch technology seen on Apple’s latest iPhones. And there still several things that are considered to be just better on a bigger screens. The same thing applies to reading books, video conferencing, and surfing the web.
